Joint cleaning project in Bujanovac

JCCP started operating a project in Bujanovac City, located in the southern part of the Republic of Serbia. The aim of this project was to give opportunities to elementary school students of different ethnic background, such as Serb, Albanian and Roma, to build understanding and reconcile with each other through a joint cleaning project. 43,000 people live in Bujanovac City (Albanian: 55%, Serb: 34%, Roma: 9%). The residential areas are not separated, however each ethnic group has different schools, shops and distribution systems. Therefore, they seldom communicate with people from different ethnic groups. Through the cooperation of local public health service, JCCP operated joint projects, such as a cleaning project, workshops, and a drawing project, for elementary school students of different ethnic backgrounds. Through this project, JCCP encouraged students to increase communication with students from other ethnic groups.
