JCCP is an international NGO with its headquarters in Tokyo, Japan. In Kenya, Somalia,South Sudan, and the Middle East, we run a wide variety of fieldprojects, ranging from community security and safety, researchand training in peace and security, protection of war-affectedpopulation, prevention of and response to gender basedviolence, livelihood, to peacebuilding programmed with astrong focus on capacity-building. The organization has beenactive since 1999, and was registered as an official NGO underthe name JCCP in 2002.

To support those whose livelihoods, freedom and lifechoices are threatened by conflict, and to help preventfurther outbreaks of violence by building long-term solutions inconflict affected societies.

Concerned with the frequent outbreak of armed conflicts,through working in cooperation with national governments,international organizations, NGOs, academic institutions andother related organizations, JCCP aims to strengthen thecontribution of the Japanese in non-governmental sector tothe promotion of world peace and international cooperation.

Under National Peace Initiative of Kenya, JCCP closely works with the government, the police and local NGOs to enhance their capacity on Early Warning and Early Response (EWER), conflict management and peaceful dialogue during and after the election. Funded by the government of Japan: 2012 – 2015.

“Conflict Prevention and Social Stabilization through Gender Sensitive Bossaso Market Rehabilitation and Entrepreneurship Development” was a unique venture which aimed to contain and prevent violent conflict by engaging youth and women at risk through the creation of employment and livelihood opportunities.JCCP provided a number of training sessions and business start-up kits to emerging traders in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce. Funded by UNOPS: 2015- 2016.

JCCP promotes harmonization amongst ethnic groups and strengthen community resilience through conflict management training and agricultural activities by multiethnic groups at IDP camps in South Sudan. Youth members, selected and trained as new generation of leaders, develop leadership and management skills.Funded by Japan Platform: 2016 – Present
