| The Japan Center for Conflict Prevention (JCCP) recognizes that small arms and light weapons are weapons of mass destruction claiming about 700,000 lives globally every year thereby seriously threatening human security. JCCP is currently tackling this problem in Cambodia with JCCP staff GEMMA Kentaro working as a Project Advisor for the Japanese Government Research Project on Small Arms Issues in Cambodia. In Kosovo, another JCCP staff KUBO Takuto is on loan to the United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK) as an Assistant Civil Affairs Officer, Skenderaj/Srbica Municipality where he is monitoring small arms issues.
