| (1)CP-Net (Conflict Prevention Network at www.conflict-prevention.org) Responding to the needs of the conflict prevention community, JCCP opened CP-Net, an online Conflict Prevention Network, in October 2003. CP-Net is intended as an online network of non-governmental organizations (NGOs), international and local, as well as governmental agencies working within and in conjunction with the field of conflict prevention. The site is centered around the highly-acclaimed Directory of Organizations for Conflict Prevention in Asia and the Pacific, and includes a specialist database, conflict prevention activity calendar, discussion forum, vacancy and job-seeking notices and video and online libraries. These are aimed at enhancing and promoting cooperation between conflict prevention organizations and to promote their long-term success. (2) Directory of Organizations for Conflict Prevention in Asia and the Pacific
JCCP continues to actively collect data on organizations for conflict prevention in the Asia and Pacific region, and will be publishing the fourth edition of the Directory in the first half of 2004. Whilst previously JCCP worked with the Japan Institute for International Affairs (www.jiia.or.jp) to produce the Directory, the 2004 edition will be completed single-handedly by JCCP. The newest information on these and conflict prevention organizations worldwide will continually be updated and available on the online Directory database website at http://www.conflict-prevention.org/db1/search.php. This online system is one whereby people interested in conflict prevention worldwide are able to freely access the website and obtain information on relevant organizations. The website has a search function, allowing users to easily access the information they require by using categories such as organization name, field of activities, type and size of organization, and countries and areas of activities. The website currently contains information on over 450 organizations. (3) International Symposia and Lectures The Japan Center for Conflict Prevention has hosted numerous symposia and lectures.
